Traditional Herbs De Provence

Traditional Herbes de Provence with Lavender
A beautifully aromatic interpretation of the classic herbs of Provence, finished with the distinctive floral character of Lavender.
Our Traditional Herbes de Provence combines Thyme, Rosemary, Marjoram, Basil, Oregano and Sage with Lavender, creating a fragrant, savoury blend with a delicate floral lift.
The lavender is what sets this blend apart. Rather than turning the seasoning sweet, it adds another aromatic layer alongside the rosemary, thyme and oregano, giving the blend a character that immediately brings to mind the flavours and landscapes of Southern France.
What makes this blend different?
Our standard Herbes de Provence is designed as a robust, versatile savoury herb blend for everyday cooking.
This lavender version takes that familiar herb profile in a slightly more distinctive direction. Lavender adds a fragrant floral note, making it particularly suited to dishes where the herbs are intended to become a feature rather than simply a background seasoning.
A little goes a long way.

Lavender Herbes de Provence Roast Chicken
You’ll need:
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Traditional Herbes de Provence with Lavender
- 1 lemon
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt and black pepper
Method:
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
Mix the olive oil with the Herbes de Provence, salt and pepper, then rub over the chicken.
Cut the lemon in half and place it inside the chicken with the garlic.
Roast until the chicken is golden and cooked through, following the appropriate cooking time for its weight. Allow it to rest before carving.
The combination of rosemary, thyme, lavender and lemon creates an aromatic roast with a distinctly French-inspired character.
Provençal Herb Butter
For something a little different, combine:
- 100g softened butter
- 1 teaspoon Traditional Herbes de Provence with Lavender
- Finely grated lemon zest
- A small pinch of salt
Mix together and refrigerate until required.
Use over roast vegetables, potatoes, chicken, grilled fish or freshly baked bread.
Kitchen Tip
Lavender has a distinctive flavour, so this blend is best used with a slightly lighter hand than a standard mixed herb seasoning. Start with around 1 teaspoon per 500g of meat or vegetables, then adjust to taste.
Pairing it with ingredients such as lemon, garlic, olive oil, tomato or butter helps balance the floral notes and allows the savoury herbs to remain at the centre of the dish.
A fragrant alternative to classic Herbes de Provence for cooks looking for something familiar, but with a more distinctive Provençal twist.
